My research deals with the ecology and the biodiversity of phytoplankton. I am interested in the effects of structuring environmental factors (hydrodynamics, resource availability, temperature, zooplankton grazing) on the development of cyanobacteria blooms, in both shallow and deep lakes.
My research interests are:
- the control of phytoplankton dynamics by physics at different scales
- the environmental determinism of cyanobacteria blooms
- the study of interactions between C, N, P fluxes and phytoplankton in lakes and rivers (stoichiometry of organic matter, production of EPS and TEP)
- the role of bioturbation by benthic macroinvertebrates and fish on the photosynthetic activity, biomass and structure of phytoplankton communities
